As early as last year on the US crowdfunding site Kickstarter, a Chinese manufacturer launched a replaceable battery TWS Bluetooth headset - World’s First Battery Exchangeable Wireless Earbuds.
Using a magnetic connection, there is a replaceable magnetic battery at the bottom of the product, while the charging case contains a set of spare batteries to provide uninterrupted life.
Officials say the headset supports Bluetooth 5.0 technology and iOS power display. The battery of the headset is connected to the body of the headset using N52 neodymium magnets to ensure that it will not fall off when in use. According to the official description, the headset has a single battery life of about 5 hours, and combined with the charging case and backup battery, it can be cyclically charged to achieve 100 hours of continuous battery life or 80 hours of continuous talk time.
There are also two contacts inside the headset, which can also be charged when placed inside the charging case. The product supports automatic power-on pairing, automatic power-off when placed inside the charging case, and uses touch operation to control functions such as play, pause, answer incoming calls, and open voice assistant.
The headset is understood to offer a variety of colors to choose from, with an in-ear design and a price tag of $69. Although this approach can solve the range and life of the TWS headset, but the magnetic battery will also add extra weight, the impact on the wearing experience is unclear. Since the battery is located in the headset bar, the call microphone must be moved up to the top of the headset, which is also expected to sacrifice the sound quality of calls. But it's still worth acknowledging that a manufacturer has introduced this innovative solution and mass production.
